All The Roadrunning  This is one of those very sticky albums. The type you aren’t really sure you want but once you listen to it sticks in your head to the point of exhaustion. The songs are gorgeous and colorful in ways that only legends can produce. There a quiet a few that simply wont leave my head. Its been playing non stop since I got it last week. Starting with the second track “I Dug Up A Diamond“. The slow and caring tone that Knopfler lays with his voice is so soothing that I get relaxed just thinking about it. Mind you that you have to have a bit of a country soul to like this album because there are more than a few Country twangers on All the Roadrunning. Emmylou seems to be the perfect female singing partner. Her silky smooth harmonies blend so well with this album that its hard to imagine the songs without her. On “This is Us” they play off each other as if they were Johnny Cash and June Carter. I love this album. Its pleasure for your ears like a sunset is for your eyes. Infinite colors and moods. Americana at its finest.
